Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher teams up with The Stone Roses guitarist John Squire to release first album

Liam Gallagher & John Squire (John Squire) had his first number one album.

Former Oasis lead singer The Stone Roses guitarist – two Manchester rock royalty – has outsold his nearest rivals by three to one, according to the official charts.

They also topped the official vinyl album charts, accounting for 45% of sales.

Their record was the most purchased album in UK independent record stores this week and also topped the official record store charts.

Gallagher and Squire told Official Chart: “Thank you to everyone who went out and bought this, it means a lot!”

Gallagher has a total of 14 official No. 1 albums during his thirty-year career.

As a member of Oasis, he scored eight chart-topping hits: “Definitely Maybe” (1994) and “Morning Glory” (What’s The Story). (1995), Be Here Now (1997), Standing on the Shoulders of Giants (2000), Pagan Chemistry (2002), Don’t Believe the Truth (2005), Dig Your Soul (2008) and Click Compilation Time flies Fast… 1994-2009 (2010).

Gallagher leaves with five more No. 1 albums oasis: “As You Are” (2017), why me? why not. (2019), live recording of MTV Unplugged (2020), C’mon You Know and Nabworth 22 (both in 2022).

His band Beady Eye, which split in 2014, had two top five records: 2011’s Different Gear, Still Speeding and 2013’s BE.

at the same time, Noel Forging their own path with High Flying Birds, the band has achieved four number one albums to date: Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (2011), Chasing Yesterday (2015), Whobuilt The Moon (2017) and Back The Way We Came: Vol 1 (2021).

Noel’s last record, Council Skies, peaked at number two on the Official Album Charts.

For Squire, his collaboration with Gallagher marked his first UK number one album.

Squire’s previous best UK chart hit came from Do It Yourself, the only album from his 1996-1999 project The Seahorses, which peaked at No. 2 when released in 1997. It stayed on the chart for 49 weeks.
