Kriti Sanon on 10 years in Bollywood: ‘I want to work until I physically can’t…’

With a wealth of content-driven and commercial films, Kriti Sanon has come a long way in the acting industry. The actress, who worked with Heropanti in the film, went on to star in hit films like “Bareilly Ki Barfi”, “Luka Chuppi” and “Mimi”, which won her the National Film Award for Best Actress. She is currently basking in the success of her recently released film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. On her 10th anniversary in the film industry, the actress took a fresh look at her career and said she’s extremely grateful for the journey.

In an interview with PTI, she shared, “Sometimes, it’s hard to realize that I’ve been in the industry for 10 years. It suddenly feels so long. There was a time, when I was in college, I didn’t even know I wanted to act. . I went from finding out I could act to eventually pursuing it… I think over time I fell in love with acting,” she added.

The 33-year-old actress decided to become an actress after completing her engineering degree from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida. She shared, “My engineering mind is very curious and always like a sponge trying to absorb everything to learn and grow. I’ve always been like that. I improve over time, at least, that’s my goal. As an As an actor, I’ve figured out what works for me and what doesn’t.”

She added, “I also feel like I don’t know what my process is because I don’t want to limit myself. Sometimes, I’ll ‘try’ to find new ways of doing things. Sometimes, it works. Sometimes, it doesn’t,” she said . I get really excited when I get a role that scares me but doesn’t know how to do it. I’m lucky enough to have a job where I wake up every day and do something different, it’s not a monotonous life. “

She added in her closing remarks: “I want to leave a mark and inspire a lot of people who might dream of coming here and doing what they love. It feels great. Talking about her recent film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya with Shahid Kapoor, she shared, “Love stories are my favorite genre but it’s not common. It’s good because there is less conflict now. There are even fewer works. But this kind of conflict is something I never imagined.”

She added, “It’s weird and different. What’s new is that this robot is close to being human, but she’s not. It makes you think, ‘Could this happen one day?’ “As an actor, it’s exciting because I have no reference point. I don’t know what to do until I actually do it.”
