Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gubaz gifted his batting gloves to a fan, a move that caught the attention of netizens. Ahead of KKR’s opening match of the new Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Gubaz interacted with some fans at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He posed for photos with fans and gave a young man his batting glove. In a viral video, the fan asked Gurbaz for his batting gloves and the Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman accepted his request and had a great time.

Gulbaaz will play a key role in KKR’s order. He was retained by the team ahead of the 2024 IPL player auction.

He played 11 games last season and scored 227 points, averaging 20.64. He scored just two half-centuries.

KKR, meanwhile, finished seventh last season under the leadership of Nitish Rana, who replaced the injured Shreyas Iyer at the helm.

While Iyer will resume captaincy duties this season, there are rumors that the batsman may miss the first few games due to a back problem.

During the player auction, KKR splashed out on Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, making him the most expensive buyer in the history of the tournament.

KKR acquired Starc for Rs 24.75 cr after a bidding war with Gujarat Titans. Despite spending more than half of the money on Starc, KKR finished the auction with nine more players.

KKR will take on SunRisers Hyderabad in their first match on Saturday, March 23 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
