Indian woman named ‘Indian of the Year’ by NDTV: Full list of winners here

New Delhi:

NDTV today recognized outstanding Indians at its biggest event of the year – NDTV Indian of the Year. The event brings together a number of high-profile figures – from top politicians and business leaders to those from film and sports – who strengthen and inspire our society. Indian woman wins ‘Indian of the Year’ award from NDTV. The honor comes in recognition of a year centered on ‘naari shakti’, which saw the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament.

The heroes of the Sirkayala Tunnel rescue operation were awarded the ‘Hero of India’ award. Vikrant Massey won the ‘Best Actor of the Year’ award for his outstanding performance in the super hit film ’12’ and the ‘Best Sports Performance of the Year’ award went to the Indian Women’s Cricket Board team. Sunny Deol, who made a strong comeback last year with Gadar 2, a remake of the hit 2001 film, won the ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award.

The award honors those who think ahead, dare to be different and redefine what it means to be “truly Indian”.

The event was attended by Union Ministers Smriti Irish, Hardeep Puri, Ashwini Vaishnaw, tennis star Sania Sania Mirza, actor Sunny Deol, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal and social media influencers Prajkta Koli and Kusha Kapila
