Kingdom Come: Deliverance, 2018’s meticulously crafted medieval action RPG, finally gets a sequel. Publisher Plaion has announced that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will be released in 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. Developed by Warhorse Studios, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 promises to be a “true sequel” to the first game, delivering thrilling first-person melee combat and a deep RPG experience.

The game was announced late Thursday via a 14-minute reveal video, with developer Warhorse delving into game details and features. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 also released a trailer showcasing the story, combat, and detailed visuals.

“Kingdom of Heaven: Deliverance 2” is set in the war-torn 15th century Central Europe and continues the story of Henry Scallitz from the first game. Henry, the son of a blacksmith and a common farmer, was thrust into the revenge saga during the events of the first game, where he studied and rose through the ranks to become a capable warrior.

In the sequel, players will continue Henry’s journey in the fierce civil war, meet new characters and experience new adventures. “In this gripping sequel, players will travel across a meticulously crafted medieval landscape, from the humble confines of a blacksmith’s shop to the grandeur of the royal court, while navigating a kingdom torn apart by civil war,” Plaang said.

The trailer showcases the first game’s improved and polished visuals, with an emphasis on realistic first-person sword combat. Plaion said the sequel includes two new maps that are twice the size of Kingdom Come: Deliverance and feature detailed real-world locations. In addition to its focus on role-playing mechanics and combat, the game also promises a detailed story, just like its predecessor.

Combat has also been improved, with Plaion opting for more accessibility. In addition to melee and ranged weapons such as swords and bows, the sequel also adds crossbows and early gunpowder weapons. The immersive RPG elements of the first game will also return. Players can take a variety of routes to complete missions, and their choices affect the story and characters.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was first released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2018, six years after its release. The game was also recently ported to Nintendo Switch. With a flexible and detailed RPG experience, an affable protagonist, and an engaging story, Kingdom Come: Deliverance has found a small following of players. The sequel promises more of the same in an updated pack for current consoles and PC.

There’s no specific release date yet, but Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is expected to be released later this year. There are no details on pricing and release yet, but the game is currently available for wishlist additions steam.
