King Charles recently lost a popularity contest with Kate Middleton as they each battled cancer.

The Princess of Wales reigns supreme among the royal family after she went public with her cancer diagnosis late last month, according to a new YouGov poll.

The 75-year-old monarch, meanwhile, trailed his son Prince William and sister Princess Anne by four places with 63% of the vote.

She compared his plight of being overly concerned with those faced by Charles’ marriage to Diana, which triggered his inner insecurities.

However, the royal writer seems relieved that the King is on friendly terms with Kate, rather than his toxic marriage to the former Princess of Wales.

Elser wrote: “Kate’s popularity and support far surpassing that of Charles at this moment of real crisis for the Crown represents a disruption to the natural order of things and the hierarchy of things carved into Cornish granite ”

“It’s a strange replay of the same dynamic that happened with Diana, Princess of Wales, who charmed people and mesmerized the masses like some spell-casting good witch in the West End.”

However, she noticed a difference, saying “not only did Charles like Kate but he could see the enormous beneficence she had done to the monarchy,” which made things a little easier for those inside the palace.

Rest assured, the royal commentator added, “Charles and Kate probably have all the love and attention in the world, with their WhatsApp chats filled with Cheryl Strayed quotes and heart emojis Symbols, but their job, on a day-to-day basis, is to keep the monarchy running, and one of them currently has a better grasp of that than the other.”
