Kevin Costner turns down Chris Hemsworth’s role in new film: ‘Your Turn’

Kevin Costner hasn’t asked Chris Hemsworth to replace him yet.

During CinemaCon 2024 last week, Thor The 40-year-old star revealed that he heard about Costner’s “abstract” love story script and subsequently tried to convince the 69-year-old Hollywood star to give him the role.

“[I spent] I tried to persuade for an hour the other day. [Costner] He said, ‘I’m doing it, kid.’ It didn’t work,” Hemsworth shared.

talking ET Later at the same event, Costner responded that Hemsworth had to “wait his turn,” adding, “As long as I’m young enough to play it, I’m going to play it.”

“If I reach a certain moment [don’t] I think I can do this, I will [reach out]. He is certainly one of our great leaders now,” he admitted.

Costner praised Hemsworth, saying, “He’s so handsome, he’s so great.”

He continued: “He must go find his [own] love story. [But] I’m glad he liked this. ”

Meanwhile, Hemsworth admitted that the project is “in [Costner’s] In a Western setting, that’s certainly true of the cabin. ”
