A recent social media post claimed that Netflix had fooled thousands of fans by introducing a feature that removed sex scenes. Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan sparked excitement after mentioning the show’s PG cut to her parents. However, the discussion reached a fever pitch when content creator Soren Iverson shared an official-looking image on X announcing the feature was open to all viewers. However, it turns out (spoiler alert!) that the image was cleverly edited and the feature didn’t exist.
The edited X post uses the scene from season two where Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) emerges from the lake.
“Skip the foreplay, literally,” the text below the image reads. “Make family movie night less awkward by removing naughty scenes from this show.”
“Netflix’s ‘Skip Foreplay’ feature removes naughty scenes to make family movie night less awkward,” Mr. Iverson wrote in the caption.
The post has been viewed 27 million times on X, with some users commenting that they were relieved by the feature.

“This is a really cool feature, hey? I think a lot of people will appreciate it,” one reply read.
Another user wrote on X: “There is hope for us decent people after all.”
Despite the excitement, viewers will still need to rely on existing strategies for navigating intimate scenes when watching with their families. The “skip foreplay” feature seems like nothing more than a clever invention.
Mr. Iverson clarified this in a follow-up post, “Well this thing blew up. I make insane stuff like this every day, so if you laugh about it (or at least breathe through your nose) , then please remove the content button below.”
