Indore subway The route through Palasia Plaza will overlap with the elevated road proposed by the Public Works Department (PWD) at the same location.

A report on the metro rail project extending from Robot Plaza to Treasure Island is expected to be submitted to Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya next week. Once departmental approval is obtained, the groundwork begins.

Palasiya Square is one of the busiest places in Indore and offers multiple modes of transportation to daily commuters.

The PWD corridor will be built on the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS). Questions were raised about the subway section after the project was proposed. According to Anil Joshi, deputy general manager of Indore Metro, the line will pass above the PWD corridor and will be nearly 15 meters above the ground.

The Ministry of Public Transport and the metro authority have agreed to build the elevated corridor at a height of six metres. The metro pillars will be six meters above the road and the metro track will be three meters above the road. The metro will start from Patrakar Colony Metro Station, pass through the elevated corridor, and finally terminate at Chappan Dukaan Metro Station.

According to Free Press Magazine, the designated agency has not yet received a tender for the Palacia Square metro corridor. Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has asked for an assessment of the feasibility of projects along the planned routes where metro projects are being considered. The report is expected to be submitted next week, with further decisions to follow.

Meanwhile, the Indore Metro authorities are urgently undertaking the next phase of marking of the corridor. Construction on the section between Robot Plaza (Shaheed Park) and Treasure Island is expected to be completed later this year.

The advisory body has completed a survey to identify private government structures and encroachments obstructing the corridor. The metro authority has also finalized the location of a possible station between Plaza de Robotico and Plaza Palacia.
