Well intentioned” person responds appropriately.

“India and the United States support a free, open and rules-based international order. Therefore, there is a lot of alignment in our strategic interests,” he said. “Moreover, our economic relationship is a win-win for both countries. The current relationship is driven by the dual alignment of shared values and aligned interests, which is a guarantee of the long-term sustainability and robustness of the relationship.”

The defense minister said that realizing the needs of today’s times, India and the United States are cooperating in different areas, including defense technology and space. He specifically mentioned the Defense Technology and Trade Initiative, through which the two countries are further strengthening their defense technology partnership.

“India is the largest democracy in the world, and the United States is another democracy. When two major democracies cooperate with each other, it will definitely make the democratic world order stronger.” Singh said. “This will be a force multiplier for the global rules-based order. Our joint efforts will not only benefit us, but the entire world.”

Elaborating on the vision behind the government’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, Singh said the country is moving at the right pace and there will be no stumbling blocks in the times to come. He cited decisions taken by the Department of Defense to promote self-reliance, such as earmarking 75% of the defense capital procurement budget for domestic industry.

Singh said this has helped India rank among the top 25 countries in defense equipment exports. “The Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas conflicts have had little impact on the defense sector. India has emerged as a strong country capable of safeguarding national interests and giving a befitting response to anyone with ill intentions.”

Singh asserted that the aim of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ is not to be divorced from the global system nor to operate in isolation. “It is rather a commitment to cooperate with friendly countries. The ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ campaign promotes friendship based on ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family),” he stressed.

Singh listed the “radical changes” India has made in various fields to keep pace with friendly countries. “We have introduced reforms to foreign direct investment and labor laws to attract foreign investment and leverage our skilled workforce. We are also working on next-generation infrastructure projects,” he said.

The Defense Minister said that unprecedented progress has been made in the construction of roads, railways, waterways, electricity and other infrastructure. “India is developing world-class infrastructure,” he said.

The defense minister asserted that the government has laid the foundation for a strong and self-reliant “New India” and that US investment can play a vital role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat” vision. He said that this is a win-win situation for both countries. India’s rapidly growing economy, demographic dividend, skilled labor force and huge domestic market ensure high returns for American companies.

Singh stressed that commerce and commerce are closely linked to the country’s security and defence, saying the link is deep. He claimed that the government is giving equal importance to defense and security as well as commerce and commerce as “in today’s era, it is not possible to move forward by separating commercial and strategic interests.” Singh said that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the U.S. NISAR, a joint initiative of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), will ensure collaboration in many areas including earth sciences, disaster management and climate change.

NISAR is a joint Earth observation mission between NASA and ISRO.
