Man killed after being shot in the head at YouTuber friend’s party

A 24-year-old man in Greater Noida died after he was allegedly shot in the head while partying with drunken friends, police officials said on Tuesday.

They said two of his friends, both aged around 25, have been detained by the police and an FIR was lodged based on the complaint of the deceased’s father.

According to police, the party was organized by one of the defendants on the evening of January 28 to celebrate a certain YouTube milestone. “The incident took place in Mohammadpur Gurjar village under the jurisdiction of Dankaur police station.

Deepak Singh attended a party hosted by YouTuber Manish Singh, who was celebrating some of his achievements on the social media platform,” Additional DCP (Greater Noida) Ashok Kumar Ashok Kumar Sharma said.

“During the party, they also drank alcohol. Due to excessive consumption, some of them got into an argument and Deepak was punched by someone. Later Deepak left the party and went home,” Sharma said.

He started feeling unwell after two to three hours at home and was sent to the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), but no external injuries were found on his body, the official said.

“Later, he was admitted to private Yatharth Hospital where he was found to have (blood) clots on his head due to which he died,” another DCP said. He said the body was then sent for autopsy after which the family cremated it. He added that they had lodged a complaint and lodged an FIR at the local Dhankaur police station as per relevant legal provisions.

“The two accused have been detained for interrogation and further investigation is on,” Sharma added.
