Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) found another reason to disappoint their fans on Saturday. Despite Virat Kohli reaching his highest score of 113 runs in IPL, Bengaluru FC could not beat Rajasthan Royals as Sanju Samson-led ball The team continued its undefeated season record. With RCB suffering their 4th defeat in 5 games, the team is facing another sub-par season that could very well see them miss out on a playoff spot once again. Former Indian cricketer and commentator Irfan Pathan breaks down RCB’s problems one by one and explains why the team is in trouble in the T20 league.

RCB found it difficult to break RR’s partnership with Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson doing almost everything for their team while chasing a target of 184. Irrfan admitted that RCB does not have a first-choice bowler at the moment.

“Two guys with a strike rate of 170+ and not a wicket-taker at the other end. RCB don’t have a single bowler. How are you going to win?” he said in his first tweet.

In the second tweet, Irrfan highlighted how Buttler scored 100 runs at a strike rate of 172 while remaining unbeaten till the end. Although Kohli also remained unbeaten for RCB, his strike rate was far from satisfactory.

“Jos Buttler scored a fantastic 100. With a strike rate of 172, his efforts were outstanding and saw the team win,” Pathan said.

Irrfan also questioned RCB’s team selection, suggesting that uncapped Indian Mahipal Lomror should be selected as he is one of the few in-form players in the team this season one.

“Mahipal Lomror is playing on this pitch in domestic cricket and he has not played 11 games. He has shown some form as well. Indian coaches need to be involved in the IPL so that these basic mistakes don’t happen. This is just an example,” Patan explained.

RCB are currently eighth in the 10-team standings with just one win from five games.
