Islamabad:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and jailed former prime minister Imran Khan claimed on Wednesday that army chief General Asim Munir was directly responsible for the imprisonment of his wife Bushra Bibi.

Bushra Bibi, 49, was detained at her Bani Gala residence on the outskirts of Islamabad after being convicted in a corruption case and an illegal marriage to Mr Khan, 71.

According to a long post uploaded on Mr Khan’s official X account, the PTI leader made the allegation against the Army Chief while talking to reporters at Adiala Jail.

“General Asim Munir was directly involved in my wife’s sentencing,” Mr Khan said, adding that the judge who convicted her said he was forced to make the decision.

“If something happens to my wife, I will not leave Asim Munir, and I will not leave Asim Munir as long as I am alive. I will expose his unconstitutional and illegal behavior, “He threatened.

Mr. Khan said that this country has the law of the jungle and everything is done by the “King of the Jungle”. “Had the king of the jungle been willing, all cases of Nawaz Sharif would have been forgiven and if he had been willing, we would have been punished in three cases in five days,” he claimed.

Mr Khan also said the way to stabilize the economy was not through International Monetary Fund (IMF) loans but through investments. “There will be no investment in the country because of the law of the jungle. The arrival of Saudi Arabia is good, but once the country has rule of law, investment will come,” he said.

He also referred to the recently reported clashes between police and army in Bahawal Nagar district of Punjab and said “policemen were beaten for violating the law” but the Governor and Governor who oppressed our people have apologized to these people. Who beat up a police officer.

Mr Khan said the Governor said after the incident “they (the police) are our brothers”. He went on to say that “this kind of treatment is for slaves and not for brothers” as powerful men beat up police officers and were forced to apologize.

He also said that PTI has been barred from contesting the by-elections. “At this time, standing in the face of oppression is jihad. Our workers must protect every vote, guard the vote,” the former prime minister said.

The military has so far not responded to these serious accusations.
