Police said the remains found wrapped in plastic at a nature reserve belonged to a man in his 40s.

Murder investigation launched after Human torso found in Kesar Wetland Thursday in Salford, Greater Manchester.

Police said the victim, a man in his 40s, had been dead for several days.

DNA testing is underway to confirm the man’s identity.

Police said: “Our focus remains on identifying this man, ensuring his loved ones are informed and supported and doing everything we can to find out what led to this tragic outcome.”

Police added that no items were found except human remains.

Police have launched an investigation after a member of the public discovered an “unidentified object wrapped in plastic” in secluded woodland.

There were no identifying marks on the remains.
