Hardik Pandya is a player who has been criticized by fans since the beginning of IPL 2024. He replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain of Mumbai Indians but most of the fans did not like him. Whenever Hardik Pandya appears on the field to toss the ball or do something, he is mostly booed by the fans present. This incident also happened at the Wankhede Stadium, the home ground of MI. Although Hardik Pandya has not spoken publicly about the matter, he is under pressure.

MI’s shaky start to IPL 2024 has added to his woes.

Robin Uthappa, a member of the 2007 T20 World Cup winning team and former Indian cricket team member, spoke in detail about Hardik Pandya’s ordeal on The Ranveer Show.

“He is a man who has the ability and the potential to become the best player in the history of the Indian team. He was found out by his team and he went to another team. After winning 3-4 titles with them, He left. He must have been feeling a bit bad; that was going to be there. He was in the GT race, won the championship and was runner-up in another race, and then the conversation started,” Uthapa said.

“The ridicule, trolls and memes about his health. Don’t you think it hurts him? It hurts him. It hurts anyone. How many people really understand the reality? Hardik is dealing with mental health issues because of course , I understand that as Indians we are emotional but it is not right to impose this kind of treatment on anyone and it is not appropriate for us as a society to do this to someone and we should not laugh along with it. These memes should not be retweeted.”

Uthappa added that the all-rounder ensured that his career was on the right track.

“It’s our job, yes it’s also a passion, but it’s my bread and butter. My job is to be on display for you to criticize. It’s not the business person’s job to criticize or have an opinion on TV. In this case , you have to show a certain amount of compassion and dignity to other people to allow them to fail, and one of the most beautiful things that we do as a country is our expression of love and how we respond to Indians. After losing the World Cup, this is what we should be like as a society and as Indians,” Uthappa said.
