New Delhi:

Delhi Police is investigating an alleged data breach after a hacking group claimed to have accessed the traffic police website, the police said today.

Police said that based on the information, the hacker group “KillSec” posted a message on its Telegram channel claiming to have gained access to the Delhi Traffic Police website. The group also claimed they could change the pending challenge status to “paid,” they added.

They added that according to the message, the organization will offer violators the opportunity to change the status of their pending challenges if they share relevant information, including the reference number of the ticket.

In a second message, the group claimed to have hacked into the Delhi Police website and exported all data except images, police said.

They said the traffic police website is hosted and managed by the National Information Center, which is aware of the problem.

The records are being reviewed by the National Information Center. Police added that it was not possible to determine whether the website had been compromised as the matter was still in the early stages of the investigation.
