Gwen Stefani found it difficult to juggle her experience of first-time motherhood with her early days with the band No Doubt.

The 54-year-old singer admitted in an interview as she prepares for her upcoming No Doubt reunion at Coachella 2024 nylon print She felt caught between being a good mother and a good band member.

“I would leave my family,” the mother of three recalls of the sacrifices she had to make each time she went to work on a new song.

Stephanie continued, “If I didn’t come home with a song, I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, I’m such a loser—I didn’t have dinner with my family, and I didn’t write a song.’ I Wasted a whole day trying to get in again no doubt.”

Today, twenty years later, she has a different perspective.

“I look at it now and I think, ‘God, what have I done to please everyone?’ Because really, I should be with my family,” she said.
