According to the police, both Gaurav and Deeksha are residents of Lucknow. They were married a year ago, but their relationship remained strained.

“The incident occurred around 3.45 pm on Friday when Katiyar took his wife for a walk on the beach, not far from his workplace,” the officer said.

He took her to a rocky area on the beach and drowned her in the sea.

Some tourists, who had seen the couple going into the sea, raised an alarm when they saw Gaurav returning to the beach alone.
