Goa Chief Minister's 'Beach Jobs' promotion lures tourists

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stressed that people can come to Goa to relax and work, adding that his government is launching the concept of digital nomadism.

“Every village is digitally connected. Har Ghar optical fiber is being completed in Panjim. We are launching ‘Beach Jobs’. We are launching the digital nomad concept. Under this, people can come to Goa, relax and also work ,” he said Mr Sawant was present at NDTV’s Indian of the Year event in Delhi.

“We have launched a homestay policy and are preparing infrastructure. We want to create human resources. We are setting up hosting institutions and developing skills among the youth,” the chief minister said.

Mr Sawant, 50, said his government was also working on spiritual tourism.

“We welcome people for spiritual tourism. We have launched Samudra Arti at the promenade of Miramar Beach. Goa will be called Dakshin Kashi in the future. There are many temples. Private investments are being made to set up yoga wellness centers in Goa ,” Chief Minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly said that India’s “techade” dream, which refers to the technology-led decade, will be realized through the power of innovators.

“One of the great things about Indian startups is that we have set up incubators, not just the Indian Institutes of Technology. The way the startup ecosystem has grown, the focus is on solving real problems… The Prime Minister’s focus is on democratizing technology. Technology It should be open access,” he further added.
