Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Virat Kohli on Saturday became the first batsman in the history of IPL to reach 7500 runs in the tournament’s 17-year history. Kohli achieved this feat in a match against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. The second-ranked player in the IPL is Shikhar Dhawan with 6755 runs, which is over 740 runs less than Kohli.

Virat Kohli will get a chance to become the first player to score more than 8000 runs for a single team in the T20 format. To achieve this milestone, the former RCB captain needs to score 110 runs against the Rajasthan side on Saturday.

Before Saturday, the 35-year-old had played 256 games and 247 innings for RCB, scoring 7890 runs with a strike rate of 131.23. He scored 7 centuries and 54 fifties for the Bengaluru-based franchise. In the ongoing IPL 2024 season, Kohli is the highest run-getter in the tournament.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson wins the toss during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday , and chose to bowl to Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

RR comes into the match on the back of a win over Mumbai Indians (MI), while RCB lost to Lucknow Supergiants in their last match.

With one win in four games, RCB currently sit eighth in the 10-team table, which speaks volumes about their troubles, while Rajasthan’s unbeaten record so far leaves them second with six points .

Sancho Samson said while bowling: “We want to bowl on this wicket first. It’s about the opponent, it’s a fresh wicket and expect some help from the seamers and also expect some dew. This It’s a long season and guys are taking responsibility and finishing. We’re going to be playing with the same team.”

But it hasn’t worked yet. We’re It hasn’t been delivered yet. Not much. People know him, he’s skilled, he hits the ball hard and he seems like a nice, calm guy.”
