Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s election campaign in Kerala’s Wayanad, which was scheduled to begin on Tuesday, has been canceled after he fell ill due to food poisoning, party leader AP Anil Kumar said.
Recently, during his campaign, Rahul Gandhi had food poisoning, after which he avoided attending the India Block rally organized in Ranchi on 21 April.
“Rahul Gandhi was set to campaign today in Satna and Ranchi, where the Bharat Rally is being held. But he has suddenly fallen ill and cannot leave New Delhi at the moment. Mr Gandhi is the Congress candidate from Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. Elections for 20 Lok Sabha seats of Kerala will be held on 26 April.
Rahul Gandhi has also canceled the programs to be held in Kerala on Monday.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will campaign in Wayanad on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
