Empty chairs on stage for jailed Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren at India Bloc rally

“Ulgulan Nyay Mahrally” is organized mainly by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha

Ranchi:

Group India organized a massive rally in Ranchi on Sunday, with two empty chairs kept on the stage – jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant One each for Sauron.

The ‘Ulgulan Nyay Mahrally’ was organized primarily by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), a large number of its workers wearing Mr Soren’s masks.

Mr Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 31 in connection with a money laundering case involving land fraud. The central agency also arrested Mr. Kejriwal on March 21 in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam.

Although the chairs of JMM executive president and AAP supremo were empty, their wives Kalpana Soren and Sunita Kejriwal were seated on the dais. They are apparently poised to play a larger political role after their spouses were arrested.

The crowd raised slogans such as “Jail ka tala tutega, Hemant Soren chutega” (The jail locks will be broken and Hemant Soren will be released) and “Jharkhand Jhukega Nahi” (Jharkhand will not bow).

As the temperature in the Jharkhand capital hovered around 40 degrees Celsius, workers braved the sweltering heat to gather for the ‘Ulgulan Nyay Mahrally’ event.

Opposition group.

A total of 28 political parties participated in the rally held at Prabhat Tara Ground.

The word “Ulugulan” means revolution and was coined by Birsa Munda during his struggle with the British for tribal rights.
