Elon Musk, one of the world’s richest men, says he will not directly support Joe Biden or Donald Trump in the US election.

However, according to him, it’s clear from his X feed that his heart is with the Republican Party. AFP.

Carrying millions of dollars in legal troubles, Trump needs the cash as he also prepares for the most expensive election in U.S. history.

So will Musk come to Trump’s rescue?

X’s former Twitter owner said in a recent interview with former Twitter CNN Anchor Don Lemon said he was “distancing himself” from Biden but insisted he was “unlikely” to contribute to any campaign.

As two of the world’s most controversial figures, Trump and Musk don’t always see eye to eye.

Elon Musk’s political leanings have given Donald Trump a clear boost by expressing support for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Additionally, his social media presence is often filled with baseless conspiracy theories, disinformation and right-wing talking points consistent with Trump, especially on immigration.

The Federal Election Commission has received complaints in the past when platforms were deemed biased but never took action.

Nora Benavidez, senior legal counsel at regulator Free Press, said: “The combination of these factors has given us a combustible moment where the experience on Twitter (X) is in the hands of an arbitrary , in the hands of a capricious billionaire, he got bored and used it to promote his views.”
