Dhruv Jurel was born on January 21, 2001 in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Nem Singh Jurel, served in the Indian Armed Forces as a havildar and fought in the Kargil War. He has a more mature sister named Neru Jurel, and his mother Rajni Jurel remains at home. He was a candidate at a military government-sponsored school in Agra.

Although his father wanted him to become an officer, he was always inspired by the game and studied hard to pass the Public Guard Foundation’s selection test.

In eighth grade, while attending a 60-day sports camp, he planned to sign up for swimming classes. Anyway, he saw a few young men playing cricket and chose to attend a cricket camp without telling his family.

After reading an article about him in the newspaper, his father tried to convince Dhruva to play various games, but Dhruva assured him that it was not his arrangement. In 2014, he scored a total of over 600 runs in the Under-17 Schools Public Cricket T20 Championship, including a total of 400 and 500 runs in 6 games. From then on, he chose to join the Uttar Pradesh Under-14 group.
