‘Delhi Capitals cannot support players’: Ex-coach takes dig at IPL team

Delhi Capitals, one of the few teams to have failed to win the Indian Premier League (IPL), are gearing up for the next season with Rishabh Pant returning as captain. Although Delhi have some good players in their squad, they have only reached the final of the tournament once. Mohammad Kaif, the team’s former coach and mentor, believes Delhi Capitals’ lack of success is due to the team’s inability to support its players.

“When I was there we were in the final one season and in the top three the other two. I don’t think the players were properly supported. They weren’t able to identify the players and support them. You can ask the same The problem is RCB’s problem,” Mohammad Kaif said in an interview with Lallantop.

In the 2023 IPL season, Delhi Capitals finished only 9th. However, before the start of the new season, the team’s strength has been improved with the return of captain Rishabh Pant.

“It’s just a start. We’re not looking to train at our absolute best right now. We’re not even too looking forward to the first game yet. We’re getting some work done,” Ricky Ponting said of the training session workload.

“What I’m seeing is very exciting, very promising. It’s great to be back in the Delhi Capitals family,” the coach said during the team’s early training session.

Not only do the players need to increase their intensity, but the coach himself also wants to increase his preparation level.

Every time I come here, I talk about ‘thinking’ To win the IPL title, but nothing has changed. I’m just going to talk about that more this year. “For Ponting, the important thing is not to reach the semi-finals but to win the elusive title for the team.

“I want the players to be fully committed and that’s why we are all here. My job is to bring success to this team. We are not just talking about winning enough games to qualify. We are talking about winning the IPL .

He said: “Everything we do, every training we have, every meeting we have, every recovery session we have, every conversation I have with the players is about making them better to give them We bring ourselves the best chance of winning.”
