Several SpiceJet passengers faced inconvenience at West Bengal’s Bagdogra airport on Wednesday as they found their luggage left behind in Delhi.

SpiceJet said the offloaded baggage will be transferred to subsequent flights and apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers.

When the incident came to light, passenger Rajesh Kumar took to social media to highlight his plight.

“Today’s flight SG8841 from Delhi to Bagdogra lost and misplaced our luggage and no response from the staff! They still don’t have any solution,” Noida resident Kumar posted on X.

The 2.30-hour direct flight takes off from Terminal 3 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 12:30 pm.

“SpiceJet flight SG 8841 from Delhi to Bagdogra on April 17 faced payload constraints due to operational reasons and required some baggage to be offloaded from the aircraft,” an airline spokesperson said.

“The unloaded baggage will be transferred on subsequent flights. For flight safety, cargo and baggage will be unloaded when facing payload restrictions,” the spokesperson said.

SpiceJet said it “deeply regrets” the inconvenience caused to the affected passengers.
