Radcliffe’s emotions were triggered when the host played a video of a 2015 interview with Rickman, who died in 2016, in which Rickman praised Radcliffe and said he was grateful to see him in Proud to perform on Broadway.

Radcliffe was moved by Rickman’s praise of Radcliffe’s work ethic as a child star, “It was really lovely to hear him say that. Thank you for showing me that.”
