Crane crashes through roof as children play outside

This is the horrifying moment a crane fell from a roof and narrowly missed hitting children while they were playing.

CCTV footage shows a crane crashing through a house in Atherton, Wigan, on Saturday (April 6), narrowly missing children playing in a nearby garden.

The overturned crane tipped over and “slit open” the roof of the townhouse, according to witnesses.

Miraculously, no one was injured in the incident.

Firefighters from Atherton Station were called to the scene at around 10.30am to secure the area.

The occupants of the house are now living in temporary accommodation while repairs are carried out.
