‘Come to Jhabua not for elections, but to serve people’: PM Modi attacks opposition in tribal-dominated MP town

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed tribal communities in Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua district and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 7,550 crore in the state.

“There has been a lot of discussion about my visit to the state and various things have been said. Some say Modi is fighting for the Lok Sabha elections from Jhabua. But I am not here to campaign. , I am here to serve the people,” Prime Minister Modi said.

PM Modi launches development projects

Notably, this is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the state this year. Among states, Madhya Pradesh has the highest six Lok Sabha seats reserved for tribals.

An official release said that during the Prime Minister’s visit, monthly installments were disbursed to nearly 2 lakh women beneficiaries under the state’s Aahar Anudan Yojana scheme. Under the scheme, women from backward tribes are provided with nutritious food for Rs 1,500 per month. .

The Prime Minister also distributed 1.75 lakh copies of ‘adhikar abhilekh’ (record of land rights) under the SVAMITVA scheme, which will provide people with documentary evidence of their land rights. He laid the foundation stone of Tanti Mamabir University, which will serve the youth of the tribal-dominated areas of the state.

Prime Minister Modi also transferred Rs 55.9 crore to 559 villages under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana, which will be used for various construction activities including Anganwadi Bhawans, fair price shops, health centres, extra rooms in schools, internal roads , among others. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of ‘CM Rise School’ in Jhabua.

The Prime Minister named the 50-gram Jhabua panchayats as ‘Nal Jal Yojana’, which will provide tap water to around 11,000 families. He also initiated and laid the foundation for several railway projects during the program.

These include laying the foundation for redevelopment of Ratlam railway station and Meghnagarh railway station.

Prime Minister Modi also launched several road development projects in Madhya Pradesh at a cost of over Rs 3,275 crore, including NH-47, Ujjain-Dewas from 0.00 km to 30.00 km (Harda-Temagaon), four-lane Harda-Betul (Package I ) NH-752D section, Indore-Gujarat MP border section NH-47’s four-lane (16 km) and Chicholi-Betul (Group III) four-lane of NH-47 Harda-Betul and Ujjain Jhalawar of NH-47 Road section NH-552G. The projects aim to improve road connectivity and contribute to economic development in the area.
