Cold wave continues in Punjab and Haryana, with Bathinda and Sirsa being the coldest places in both the states on Friday.
According to the Meteorological Department here, the minimum temperature in Bathinda, Punjab was recorded at 4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Sirsa, Haryana was recorded at 4.2 degrees Celsius.
Many other parts of both the states also remained in the grip of cold and there was dense fog in the morning.
In Punjab, Amritsar, Faridkot, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, Patiala and Pathankot recorded minimum temperatures of 6.8 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees Celsius, 6.8 degrees Celsius, 7.7 degrees Celsius and 6 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Haryana, Bhiwani and Fatehabad remained in the grip of severe cold, with minimum temperatures recorded at 4.3 degrees Celsius and 4.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, Narnaul and Ambala recorded minimum temperatures of 5 degrees Celsius, 7 degrees Celsius, 7.6 degrees Celsius, 6 degrees Celsius and 8.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
Chandigarh, the common capital of both the states, recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius.
