Akhilesh Yadav declines invitation

“You will come with us to Ayodhya tomorrow,” the Speaker told Yadav during the budget discussion in the House on Saturday.

In response, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament said: “We will go only when Lord Ram calls us.”

Earlier, the Samajwadi Party chief also skipped the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and other opposition leaders also chose to abstain.

This time, however, most of the MPs, except Yadav, agreed to go to Ayodhya.

“This is a matter of faith and you cannot force anyone to go there,” Mahana said of the Samajwadi Party chief’s absence from the visit.

Despite Yadav’s refusal, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, Apna Dal Sonelal, Nishad Party, Suheldev Bhatia Samaj Party, Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress Leaders of various political parties, including the Party, People’s Party and People’s Party, have accepted the invitation and will participate in the visit.

Currently, there are 400 MLAs in the State Assembly and 100 MLAs in the Legislative Council. It is not yet clear how many members will travel to Ayodhya.

The BJP has 252 MLAs in the Assembly, its ally Sonelal has 13, the Nishad party has six and the Surhadev Samajwadi Party (SBSP) has six. Nishad and SBSP are members of the ruling National Democratic Alliance.

The state’s main opposition party, the Samajwadi Party, has 108 MLAs, the Rashtriya Lok Dal has 9 MLAs, the Indian National Congress has 2 MLAs, the Jansatta Dal Loktantrik has 2 MLAs and the Bahujan Samaj Party has 1 MLA.

“Most RLD legislators will go to Ayodhya on February 11 to attend the ‘darshan’ of Lord Ram at the newly constructed temple,” Rajpal Singh Balyan, leader of the RLD legislative party in Parliament, told PTI on Friday.

Umasankar Singh, leader of the Legislature Party of the BSP, also said that the party has accepted the invitation. “We are going to Ayodhya! This is an invitation from the Speaker of Parliament, who does not belong to any political party but everyone elected him unanimously,” he told the Press Trust of India news agency.

Virendra Chaudhary, MP from Farenda in Maharajganj district said, “Lord Ram is our idol but due to pre-determined plans in our district on Sunday, I will not be able to go but our Legislature party leader Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’ will go Go to Ayodhya.”

Jansatta Dal Loktantrik leader Raghuraj Pratap Singh also welcomed the invitation to visit Ayodhya.

Lawmakers visit Ayodhya in luxury bus

All the legislators left for Ayodhya in buses on Sunday morning. Ten luxury buses carrying cabinet ministers and members of the legislative body arrived in Ayodhya at 11:30 am.

Arrangements have been made for the visit of Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh.

CM Adityanath arrived directly at Ayodhya airport on Sunday noon.

Thereafter, he and other MPs visited Hanuman Garhi and Rama temples. Darshan.
