Ghaziabad:

A woman was allegedly raped by a man who befriended her under a false identity, police said Sunday.

They said the man, who has been arrested by police, allegedly made objectionable videos and photos of the woman and threatened to post them on social media.

The woman claimed that the man identified himself as Ankit and claimed to be a salesman from Noida. However, police said his real name was Talib Hassan.

The woman claimed in her complaint that the man called her to a hotel and raped her a few months ago.

ACP (Wave City) Saloni Agarwal said: “The accused made the video and posted it in an objectionable State took a photo with the woman. An FIR was lodged at the Crossings Republic police station on Saturday on the complaint lodged by the victim.”

Agarwal added that the woman claimed in her complaint that the man threatened her that he would share her video on social media.

Police said the accused is a native of Moradabad district and currently resides in Koda Colony in Ghaziabad.
