Indian student was chased and attacked by four men in Chicago, and his phone was stolen while he was recording the video

An Indian student from Hyderabad was attacked by four armed robbers near his home in Chicago.

In a widely circulated video, the victim, Syed Mazahir Ali, described how he was beaten and kicked by robbers who also took his mobile phone and left him bleeding.

The latest attack comes after four Indian-origin students were found dead in the United States this year.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the student being chased by three attackers near his home on Campbell Avenue in Chicago in the early hours of Tuesday morning (CST).

In the video, Said, who is bleeding from his forehead, nose and mouth, can be heard saying: “Four people attacked me. I came home with a food parcel in my hand. I slipped near my house, Four guys were kicking and punching me. Please help me, brother. Please help me.”

Syed Mazahir Ali is a resident of Langar Houz, Hyderabad, and went to the United States to pursue his master’s degree at Indiana Wesleyan University.
