Hardik and co did win the next two games, but lost to the Chennai Super Kings after conceding over 200 runs in 20 overs, again triggering widespread criticism. Former Australia captain Aaron Finch rated MI’s performance in IPL 2024 and mentioned two of their star cricketers – Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah in his verdict.

“First and foremost, I think the captain needs to find some form and consistency with the bat and ball. We have seen him bowling in some games and not in others, so ideally , some form with both bat and ball is going to go a long way. Also, their bowling outside of Jasprit Bumrah lacks quality and consistency. Depth,” Finch, who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past, told Star Sports.
