BRS leader K Kavitha's house raided in Delhi liquor policy case

New Delhi/Hyderabad:

The Enforcement Directorate raided the residence of BRS leader K Kavitha in Hyderabad in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. The action comes after the leader repeatedly skipped subpoenas issued by the agency.

Ms. Kavitha is a member of the Telangana Legislative Council (MLC) and the daughter of Bharat Rashtra Samithi Chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Although she had been questioned earlier in the case, she skipped at least two subpoenas this year.

Amit Arora, one of the accused in the money laundering case related to the repeal of Delhi’s liquor policy, used Ms Kavitha’s name during his interrogation. The agency alleged that a liquor lobby group called “South Group” paid a kickback of Rs 100 crore to AAP leaders through another accused Vijay Nair.

The mastermind of Southern Group is said to be a business partner of Ms Kavitha. BRS leaders are also said to be members of the group.
