Video: Fist fight between 2 passengers on California-bound flight over seat

A massive fight broke out between two passengers on a long-haul flight from Taiwan to California in the US over a seat. The incident occurred on EVA Air Flight BR08, which took off from Taipei City for San Francisco on Tuesday, The New York Post reported. A video of the incident went viral on social media.

The altercation began when one passenger opted to switch seats after the person beside him started coughing. When the original occupant of the seat returned, a heated argument broke out. The argument gave way to a fist fight as the passengers rained punches on each other.

The video showed three flight attendants trying to stop the man from raining blows on the passenger who had poached his seat. One of the crew members held the man from behind while another pushed him back.

During the brawl, one of the flight attendants was elbowed in the head, as seen in the video.

As the brawl appeared to subside, the passenger who poached the seat approached the other individual, leading to another altercation in which blows were exchanged in the aisle.

Several passengers stepped in to help the crew separate the two men.

Even after the brawl, the matter did not settle down as the two men continued to point and shout at each other. The crew members kept them separate for the remainder of the flight.

The two men were handed over to the San Francisco police after the flight landed at San Francisco airport, The New York Post report said.

EVA Airways did not comment on the incident at the time of writing this story.
