KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants were literally defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024 on Wednesday. Led by the power-hitting of openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, SRH chased down the target of 166 in just 9.4 overs. With 62 balls remaining, this was the fastest successful chase (100+ targets) in IPL history. SRH’s score of 167/0 in 9.4 overs is also the highest score by a team in the first 10 overs in the tournament.
Needless to say, KL Rahul was disappointed after the defeat. “I have no words,” Rahul said after the game. After the match, Rahul and LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka can be seen having an intense conversation. The broadcasters titled the conversation as: “Animated reactions from the LSG camp.”
