British Prime Minister Sunak and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen spoke on Sunday about Ukraine, Gaza, the Red Sea and the death of Alexei Navalny, a Downing Street spokesman said.
“The Prime Minister and President von der Leyen expressed their outrage at the death of Alexei Navalny and stressed that it is crucial that those responsible within the Russian system are held accountable,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
Sunak and von der Leyen also condemned Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, the statement said, adding that the Prime Minister updated the European Commission President on his recent dialogue with the Israeli Prime Minister and the King of Jordan on the situation in Israel and Gaza Condition.
