British author Helen Fielding has previously said she decided to write about Bridget’s romance in the third book because she didn’t want Bridget to become a “smug married person.”

In Bridget Jones: Crazy for Boys, Bridget is a widow in her 50s with two children after Mark’s death several years ago. However, details of the movie’s plot and whether it will follow the original work have not yet been revealed.

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on Valentine’s Day 2025. Its UK release date has yet to be announced.
