'Delhi has no sympathy for you': BJP MP Manoj Tiwari attacks Arvind Kejriwal

Hours after BJP MP Manoj Tiwari criticized Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal, she told AAP Her jailed husband’s speech was read out to staff and the people of Delhi.

The BJP leader came down heavily on Mr Kejriwal’s wife, saying: “Where were you when he swore to your children that he would never ally with other parties and broke his promise? When he promised that he would not Where were you when you were traveling in bungalows and government vehicles? Finally building a palace for yourself? You entered that house and filled it with tons of money. People in Delhi now have no respect for you or Arvind Kejriwal Compassion.”

Tiwari, who is confident that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-led BJP government will form the government this year, said the people of Delhi will vote for Narendra Modi and make him the prime minister again.

“Soon, the people of Delhi will vote for Narendra Modi and make him the Prime Minister. By 2025, the BJP will be in power in the national capital with its twin-engine government,” he said.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva lashed out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for claiming that Kejriwal will run the government from jail and said that while in jail , you run a gang, not a government.

“We have started a fight against corruption and one of the results is Arvind Kejriwal, who is now in ED custody. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accepted bribes worth Rs 100 crore, let us talk about this. Those guilty of corruption should be held responsible Responsibility… in prison you run a gang, not the government,” Mr Sachdeva said.

Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal on Saturday read out a message from her husband who is in Enforcement Directorate custody, in which he said no jail can Lock him in and he will come out “soon” and fulfill his promise.

“Your son and brother Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sent a message from jail,” Sunita Kejriwal quoted her husband as saying.

“Dear fellow citizens, I have been arrested. Whether I am in prison or not, I will continue to serve my country. My life has been dedicated to my country. I have experienced a lot of struggles in this life and I know this will continue. So this This arrest does not surprise me,” Kejriwal said in a statement read by his wife in the video.

The Delhi chief minister also urged Aam Aadmi’s party workers not to hate the BJP members over his arrest.

“I also appeal to all AAP workers working for social welfare and public welfare not to stop just because I am in jail. Don’t hate the BJP people because of this. They are our brothers and sisters. I will soon Will be back,” Sunita Kejriwal quoted him as saying.

Arvind Kejriwal said that no jail can keep him inside and he will come out soon and fulfill his promise.

“There are multiple forces within and outside India that are weakening the country. We must remain vigilant, identify these forces and defeat them. Women in Delhi must think Kejriwal is in jail. Who knows if they will get Rs 1,000. I appeal to them Believe in their brother, their son. No prison could keep him locked up for long. spring will come soon (I will come out soon) and keep my promise,” Sunita Kejriwal said while reading out the Delhi Chief Minister’s message.

The Delhi Chief Minister was on Friday remanded to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate for seven days, i.e. till March 28, a day after he was arrested by the probe agency in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case in connection with the money laundering case.

The case related to alleged irregularities and money laundering during the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy Case, 2022, which was later abandoned.

The arrests by central agencies drew harsh criticism from opposition leaders against the BJP-led Centre.

Kejriwal’s arrest comes days after the education ministry arrested Bharat Rashta Samithi (BRS) leader and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao K Kavitha ’s daughter as part of an investigation into money laundering allegations related to the now-repeated consumption tax policy. Kavitha will be detained till March 23.

Two senior AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh are in judicial custody in the GST policy case. Sisodia, then deputy chief minister of Delhi, was arrested by India’s Central Bureau of Investigation on February 26 after multiple rounds of interrogation. On October 5, ED arrested Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh.
