Kolkata:
Locket Chatterjee, the BJP’s candidate for the Hooghly Lok Sabha seat, on Saturday accused Trinamool Congress party supporters of accosting her vehicle.
The TMC has denied any connection with the incident, claiming that ordinary people were protesting against her alleged absence from the constituency where she is contesting for a second term.
The incident took place in Bansbelia in Hooghly district, where she had gone to attend a religious ceremony.
“Suddenly, some outsiders attacked the vehicle and there were no ordinary people there. I was able to come out from there with the help of security personnel,” she said.
The local TMC leader refuted her allegations, saying: “Ordinary people protested against her absence from the constituency. The TMC has nothing to do with the incident.”
