Bajaj Auto Plans to launch exciting new models in its product line-up demonstrate the company’s strong push for innovation and market expansion.

The company’s executive director Rakesh Sharma recently revealed in a post-earnings call that the Indian auto company plans to launch new versions of its popular electric scooter Chetak as well as the much-anticipated Pulsar NS400.

“In the domestic motorcycle market, our growth rate in the October-December quarter was twice the industry growth rate. But our focus is on the upper half of the industry – the 125cc plus segment – and our growth rate was three times the industry growth rate. times. As a result, our market share is close to 31%,” Autocar India quoted Bajaj Auto executive director Rakesh Sharma as saying.

The company plans to increase monthly sales to 15,000 units by March 2024 and add a new model to the Chetak lineup in the first quarter of the next financial year. The new Chetak variant is likely to be a more economical option compared to the current model. This well-planned move is aimed at challenging the market leadership of companies like TVS Motor, Ather and Ola by targeting the price-sensitive segment.

Additionally, Bajaj is reportedly planning to expand its electric two-wheeler lineup by adding new models in the first quarter of the next fiscal.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400: What to expect

Pulsar NS400 is the much-awaited addition to Bajaj’s popular Pulsar series. The bike will be powered by a 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that will produce 40 hp and 35 Nm of peak torque. In the premium motorcycle segment, it is expected to compete with the likes of KTM Duke 390 and Royal Enfield Himalaya.

Bajaj is also looking to expand its network to support its electric vehicle ambitions. The company plans to expand the number of cities where its e-scooters are sold to 200 soon. There are no details about the CNG-powered motorcycle yet. However, it is speculated to be a 100-125cc motorcycle.

The company’s intention to strengthen its position in the Indian two-wheeler market is evident from Bajaj’s aggressive product launches and network expansion plans. The game-changer may be the new CNG model, but the company’s success is expected to be driven by the new Chetak variant and the Pulsar NS400.
