Arunachal Pradesh: Center allocates INR 2,378 Cr for construction of border highway sections

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the Center has approved an allocation of Rs 2,378.72 crore for the construction of two sections of border highways in Arunachal Pradesh with a total length of 93 kilometers. He said the road infrastructure development was aimed at enhancing connectivity with border areas and promoting socio-economic growth in the region.

Nitin Gadkari shared this information on It also approved an allocation of Rs 279.91 million for the construction of the 15.4-km-long Lada section. – The Sarli section (Package No. 7) of NH-913 (Border Highway) is in EPC mode.

The Road Transport and Highways Minister said the development of the border road stretch will create critical road infrastructure and connect important river basins, thereby facilitating the development of numerous hydropower projects in the state. Notably, this green road will connect uninhabited or sparsely populated areas of Upper Arunachal Pradesh, presenting huge tourism potential. The minister added that a significant increase in traffic volume is expected to be accommodated due to the expected increase in tourism activities.
