Apple plans to launch an artificial intelligence tool to complete lines of software code, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

The tool is similar to Microsoft’s Copilot in that it can complete lines and blocks of code based on the first part of code entered by developers, the news service reported. Apple may incorporate this feature into its Xcode software as early as this year.

Apple gives away Xcode for free to software developers, but it costs $99 per year to submit an app to its App Store.

Bloomberg also reports that Apple is planning to add other AI features to its products, such as the ability to automatically create Apple Music playlists and slideshows in its business presentation software. The news organization said that a new version of the “Spotlight” search feature on Apple devices can dig deeper into apps to control specific features of the apps. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
