“I can’t say I need time to settle”: Sanju Samson’s honest statement amid strike-rate row cricket news

In a candid chat with the IPL 2024 broadcaster, the Rajasthan Royals skipper admitted that it is difficult for batsmen to just hit in phases when it comes to the shortest format of the game.

Samson relied on his IPL form to earn a place in the Indian team for next month’s T20 World Cup. As far as approach and intentions in T20 cricket are concerned, the wicketkeeper batsman’s decision was clear. For that, the batsmen will have to find the boundary directly from the star.

“There is only one intention in this format – just go out and look for boundaries. You have to show that intention, you have to look for those sixes. You have to play that impactful role as early as possible,” Samson said. ,

“There is no individual pattern to score runs in this (format). I think there is only one way to do it – you go ahead and dominate. If you don’t dominate, you hope you get out. You will go and your guys will go ahead and dominate, but if everyone doesn’t dominate, we lose the game. So there is no second gear, that’s what I believe about T20.”
