Angela Rayner wants Diane Abbott to return to parliamentary Labor party as she tells of ‘horrible’ abuse by MP

Angela Rayner says she “would like to see” Diane Abbott return to the parliamentary Labor Party following controversy over a Tory donor’s alleged comments about her.

Labor’s deputy leader said she was “frustrated” that Labor’s procedures could take so long but they must be followed when complaints are made against individuals.

Ms Abbott, who has been the MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington since 1987, was stripped of the party whip last year after her comments in the Observer and now serves as an independent. Served in the House of Commons.

In her article, she claimed that Jews, Irish, and Travelers did not experience racism in the same way that black people did.

she Still suspended from the Parliamentary Labor Party But since the racial row erupted this week, calls for her to reinstate the whip have grown louder.

Frank Hurst, A Tory donor allegedly said Ms Abbott made him “want to hate all black women” and “should be shot”.

Reinstating the whip would allow Ms Abbott to serve as a Labor MP.

Ms Rayner told reporters at a parliamentary lunch: “I would personally like to see Diane come back but Labor must follow its procedures.

“For me, that’s the most important thing, that we make sure our party is fit to govern by making sure we have a robust complaints process and something that people can trust.
