‘Always with me’: Shikhar Dhawan’s post for son Zoraver, months after ‘lockdown everywhere’ statement Cricket News

Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain and India opener Shikhar Dhawan posted a heartwarming picture for his son on social media. Dhawan-led PBKS will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday. Both teams have had a tough time in the IPL so far, winning 2 games each and losing 4 games. They sit eighth and seventh respectively with just four points. Both sides had lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) respectively in their previous matches.

Dhawan took to Instagram and posted a picture of himself wearing the jersey number 1 and named it after his son Zorafur. “You are always with me, my child,” the caption of Dhawan’s post read.

Dhawan and his ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee parted ways after their marriage failed in October last year and ended their marriage in September 2021. During the separation, the Delhi Family Court granted the divorce and stated that the petitioner (Shikhar Dhawan) was entitled to obtain a divorce order on the ground of cruelty.

Last year, Dhawan had written in a post that he was under lockdown everywhere and had not seen his son for a year.

In five games so far in IPL 2024, Dhawan has scored 152 runs at an average of 30.40 and a strike rate of 125.61. He also scored a half-century and his best score was 80. He missed the previous match against RR due to injury.

After the defeat against RR, Punjab Kings (PBKS) director of cricket Sanjay Bangar on April 14 provided an update on Shikhar Dhawan’s shoulder injury, saying that he is likely to miss the game for at least seven to 10 days due to the shoulder injury.

“He’s got a shoulder injury, so I would say he’s probably going to be out for at least a few days. Having an experienced opener, someone like Shikhar, who has the experience of batting on wickets like this, becomes Extremely important.” [for the team]. We’ll have to wait and see how he responds to treatment. It currently appears that he may be out for at least seventy days. ” Bangal said at the post-match press conference.

Dhawan is the second-highest run-scorer in the history of the cash-rich league. The left-handed batsman scored 6768 runs in 222 games at an average of 35.07, a strike rate of 127.12, a highest score of 106*, two centuries and 51 fifties.
