Airtel has announced new plans for prepaid and postpaid users to keep them connected while flying. The telecom service provider said the bundle will offer high-speed data, limited minutes of free calls, and a limited number of free text messages. For those who don’t want to top up separately, the service is also bundled with specific international roaming packages. Notably, Reliance Jio also offers similar packages for people traveling internationally on long-haul flights.

Both prepaid and postpaid users will get 250MB of data, 100 minutes of outgoing calls and 100 outgoing SMS for Rs. 195 plan. Announcing the products, Airtel revealed that it has partnered with UK-based in-flight telecom service provider Aeromobile to provide connectivity to its users. The company claims that the service will be provided by 19 airlines flying on different international sectors. While the telecom service provider did not specify which airlines will be included, it is likely that airlines served by Aeromobile will have access to the service.

Additionally, Airtel also has multiple channels to contact the company’s support team on board the aircraft. Users can contact their dedicated WhatsApp number via phone call or SMS. Its contact center handles inquiries and complaints around the clock. To monitor data usage, purchase extra minutes or receive real-time bill details, users can also log in to the AirtelThanks app.
