The Adobe Express mobile app with Firefly AI is now available to all users worldwide. The company first launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered photo and video editing mobile platform in March. At the time, the company released a beta version of the app, allowing users to test its functionality. After more than a month in beta, it’s now available for free to all Android and iOS users. The app does have a premium version for those who want to use exclusive features.

The move was announced via Newsroom postal Provided by Adobe. “Adobe Express brings the magic of Firefly’s generative AI directly into the web and mobile content creation experience,” Govind Balakrishnan, Adobe’s senior vice president of Adobe Express and Digital Media Services, said at the launch of the mobile app. Express is for businesses and digital content creators who post on TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook and other social platforms.

It’s worth noting that Adobe Express isn’t a new initiative for the company. It has been experimenting with a cloud-based mobile content creation platform since 2015. The new app now brings Adobe’s in-house Firefly AI capabilities to Android and iOS platforms. In addition, users can choose to co-edit, review and comment on applications to create a collaborative environment. Mobile and desktop users will also be able to collaborate on the same project, increasing cross-platform collaboration.

Adobe Express features

With the help of the AI-driven application, users will get multiple video-centric features. Users can combine video clips, images, and music to create a single video. There are options to add animations, generate real-time and customizable subtitles in over 100 languages, add video timelines, layer timing, and more. The app also supports 4K video.

On the image side, users can use the Firefly text-to-image generator to generate photos, or use generated fills to add, remove, or replace people, objects, etc. with simple text prompts. Additionally, the application allows users to generate editable templates with text prompts. To ensure that content created and edited with AI tools is safe for commercial use, Firefly AI follows the guidelines of the Content Provenance and Authenticity Alliance (C2PA), an open source technology for labeling AI-generated content.

Users accessing the free version of the app will not be able to use certain features. Adobe has added a premium membership tier with a monthly membership price of Rs. 480. Membership will provide access to Firefly AI-specific features such as resizing and erasing, premium templates, licensed Adobe fonts, 100GB cloud storage, and access to Adobe Photoshop Express. The company is also currently offering a two-week free trial to members.
