Greater Noida:

A construction worker was arrested in Greater Noida on Tuesday for allegedly killing an accountant over an alleged inappropriate physical relationship with his sister-in-law, police said.

Greater Noida deputy commissioner of police Ashok Kumar Sharma said the accountant was working at the same construction site as workers in Sigma Sector 1 for the past five months and was used by the accused. Beaten to death with sticks.

“Officials of the local Beta 2 police station arrested the accused Dharmendra for the murder of Krishna Pal from Aichhar market today. After interrogation by the police, it was found that the victim had inappropriate physical relations with relatives of the accused,” said Mr. Sharma said.

“Earlier today, the accused arrived at the construction site where the victim lived and called him out of the building. He then attacked the victim with a stick and left the scene, leaving the body there,” the officer said.

The local police station registered a case and launched investigation under IPC Section 302 (murder) and the accused Dharmendra was arrested within 12 hours of the incident, police said.

They said the stick used in the crime, a bloodstained jacket and the victim’s mobile phone were recovered.
